LISD Highschool Student Exhibit
April 1st, 2004
The Lewisville Independent School District Art Program is proud to present the annual VAL “LISD High School Art Exhibit”, featuring works from some of the best art students from around the different area high schools in the district. The exhibit will be held in the Visual Art League Art Center Gallery. The exhibit is open from March 26 through April 11.
The LISD judges also presented ribbons to art pieces that are outstanding. One of the exhibitors is Jessica Cook of Flower Mound HS. She was recently spotlighted by the Visual Arts Society of Texas and also took best of show award in the recent VAST’s Annual Highschool Art Contest. Her winning piece is currently on exhibit.
Recently, there are concerns out there that erosion of the arts in our schools are inevitable. Lewisville Independent School District seem to be holding on and the faculty with students are “kicking and screaming” - full of artistic expressions and vibrant ideas - out to prove that art is essential to life and education. The Visual Art League is very happy to host these annual LISD exhibits.
