Open Painting Sessions
Open Painting Sessions are happening on Thursday afternoons and evenings at the art center. Come to the Art Center to create your work in the environment of other artists. Generally Marcia Martin and/or others are there painting between 1:00 and 4:00 pm and John Ramirez and/or others are there painting between 6:30 and 9:00 pm – join them!
Rodney Rogers
Congratulations to Rodney Rogers who curated an exhibit at the Arlington Museum of Art of the work of Houston Artist, Ron Hoover. The exhibit runs through September 25.
Western Days
VAL had great fun at the Western Days event and gave out a lot of information about VAL. We met some great new people and received accolades on our artwork, which are always nice to hear.
Ed and R’Lene Winters
Our best to Ed and R’Lene Winters who just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a wonderful reception that included friends from several states, their two sons, and granddaughters.
“NAZCA-1” by Lorraine Hayes
Lorraine Hayes’ painting, “NAZCA-1”, received the Pauline Morris Memorial Award in the Visual Arts Society of Texas Annual Juried Membership Exhibition in Denton. The exhibit was at the Denton Art Center in August. Congratulations to Lorraine.
