Major Exhibitions
The Visual Art League hosts two major exhibitions each year, Viewpoints and Fresh Ideas, a members show. In the fall, the open juried exhibition, Viewpoints, attracts entries from artists not only throughout the metroplex, but the state and nation as well. The jurors, recognized art professionals, select art and award prizes in a competitive atmosphere. The spring Fresh Ideas member show features the diverse styles, subjects, and media of Visual Art League members’ work.

Throughout the year, the Visual Art League exhibits rotating individual and small group shows of guest artists monthly in two gallery spaces.

A continuing show featuring diverse styles, subjects, and media of the Visual Art League member’s work resides in the main gallery.

LISD Exhibition
Special exhibitions also showcase the talent of Lewisville Independent School District students during March through May.

It’s finally here, the new VAL website. Our site now utilizes a well-architectured publishing system. It is a mature and stable product. We hope that by utilizing this system we can improve user experience and align to web standards. And now we can promote a better sense of community by allowing VAL members to participate in commenting and writing the articles published in the site. Benefit Show, At the VAL Gallery, December 10th and 11th, 10am – 5pm. VAL will be sponsoring a benefit show for hurricane relief. Proceeds will go to Christian Community Action located here in Lewisville. See their web page for their needs. www.ccahelps.org We are asking our artists to donate small works (Maximum of 14″ in either dimension for 2D, unframed on canvas or paper). Every first Tuesday of the Month is the Visual Art League’s General Meeting featuring a speaker on the arts. Members bring your friends along to these meetings. And the second Tuesday of the Month is VAL’s Board Meeting. All Members are invited.

Lewisville will celebrate Western Days all day long on Saturday, September 4 with a rodeo on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Saturday will have many activities including outdoor entertainment, gun fights, roping and more fun.

The church facility previously Temple Baptist will be used for a business expo and other exhibits that will include a quilt show and VAL member’s artwork. The expo center will be open that day from 9 am until 6 pm. We will need to schedule shifts of people to be there during that time to talk about our art and VAL.

The show will be installed the previous Friday afternoon and evening. If you are interested in participating, please contact Elaine at 972-221-2398 or John Aggus at 972-317-8882.
