Last March 6, 7 p.m. at the VAL Gallery, Don Van Radke talked about the history behind figure painting, starting with the Altamira cave paintings, followed by a discussion on how that history relates to his work, and his work in general.
Don has been teaching painting and drawing courses at the Texas Women’s University since 1984. He earned his master’s and bachelor’s degrees of fine art in painting from University of North Texas. Don previously worked in oils, but uses acrylics exclusively at this time.
