The VAL member exhibit “Food, food, food” is available for viewing on the VAL Gallery until January 19, 2008. Have a sneak peek on some of the pieces included in the show.
The show “Food, Food, Food” features local artists depicting an edible theme on their art works. Visitors are asked to bring donations of canned goods for the Christian Community Action Food Bank.

The exhibit “Theory of Macrame” is available for viewing on the VAL Gallery until January 19, 2008. View some of the pieces featured in the show.
VAL member Bill Davenport’s show, “Theory of Macramé Owls,” will feature his collection of about 150 macramé owls, many of which have been used as props for theater and television productions.
“My macramé owl collection demonstrates that the most ridiculous things are worthwhile just because someone did them, very similar in spirit, if not form, to the conceptual art of the ’60’s and ’70’s, about the time most of these owls were originally made,” he said.

The exhibit “Memories of Strength and Beauty” is available for viewing on the VAL Gallery until January 19, 2008. View some of the pieces featured in the show.
Charlotte Lindsey’s show, “Memories of Strength and Beauty,” will include a series of pieces created from old books that have been carved and imbedded with natural objects, some including Polaroid transfer images.
“These pieces serve as personal metaphors,” said Lindsay, whose design work will be featured at two DART light rail stations being constructed in Carrollton.
