VAL Plein Air Fall Workshop

VAL is organizing “En Plein Air” workshops to encourage all artists to enjoy the outdoors, paint the beautiful nature around us, and to support LLELA. The paintings created during the workshop will be eligible for display at the new Lewisville Creative Art Center being constructed in Old Town Lewisville.

Where: Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area (LLELA)

Fee: VAL is not charging for this event, however, LLELA charges $5 per person for admission to the grounds.
Workshop Format: Free format. We all paint together to learn from each other. Murthy will offer help and suggestions throughout the day. We are considering painting in two locations within the park. You are welcome to paint in your preferred medium. In addition, you can take photographs and do some sketches.
Schedule:
| 9:00 am | Check-in at the park, introductions, orientation and maps |
| 9:30 am | Assemble at the Homestead location |
| 10:00 am | Demo, tips, set-up and start painting |
| 12:00 – 1:00 pm | Lunch Break (please bring your own lunch) |
| 1:30 pm | Mini Show and Tell |
| 2:00 – 5:00 pm | Painting will resume |
| 5:00 – 5:30 pm | Mini Show and Tell in the parking lot |
Artists are encouraged to finish at least one painting on site.
PREPARING FOR OUTING IN THE DALLAS AREA:
Bring water bottles, sun glasses, sun screen, hat, umbrella, and a chair
Supplies to Bring:
You are welcome to bring your favorite supplies and palette of colors keeping in mind that you will have to carry them all. Don’t forget to bring something to carry your wet canvases.
General: Sketch Books, pencils, paper towels, plastic bags
