Visual Art League of Lewisville

I offer drawing classes to children in Lewisville ISD after school at the schools for one hour. I am looking for teachers and want to extend the offer to VAL’s membership. Please see the information below and contact me with any questions. — Peggy Bush, 940-498-5721

Now Hiring Teachers!

Teach 2-5 hours a week After School, $14 to $16 per class, Lewisville ISD schools/area. Paid training, curriculum, and supplies provided. SOLID Classroom experience required. Teachers travel to area schools and recreation centers and teach art immediately following dismissal for 1 hour. We are looking for teachers who are available 2 to 3 afternoons a week.

Current openings in Flower Mound, Highland Village, and Carrollton. Busiest days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons. Due to the nature of the program, teachers typically do not teach more than1 class a day.

Beginning August 24th and for 6 weeks, Mary Ellen Wehrli will be giving classes on the “Elements of Design”. Classes are at the VAL Art Center on Tuesday evenings from 7-9 pm. Fee for the full session is $150 or $25 a class. Look for additional information at the Lewisville Visual Art League Center or call Mary Ellen at 972-966-8777.

Color Theory by Sally Packard
Workshop at Center for the Visual Arts in Denton on Oct.15 and 16. Fee: $70 plus $50 approximate cost of supplies. This includes 314 different Color Aid papers which will be ordered for you. Arne Westerman of Portland Oregon (Site) – Workshop October 18 to 22, 2004 sponsored by Society of Watercolor Artists of Ft. Worth, Texas. Coordinator: Barbara Westbrook.

Next year the Visual Art Society of Texas will be bringing Gale Webb (Site) of Lubbock to the Center for the Visual Arts in Denton for a workshop, February 28-March 3. Fee: $180. Deposit of $50 due to secure a place. Mail check payable to VAST to Mary Emerson, 1001 Emerald Sound Blvd., Oak Point, TX 75068. You may want to start planning for this class now.
