VAL Photographers!

Attention all VAL Photographers and Potential VAL Photographers!

This year will be our second annual Photography only exhibition. Last years was such a beautiful show that we have decided to do it again. The title of the show this year will be “Through the Looking Glass:Abstract Impressions and Surrealism in Photography.”

The goal of this exhibition is to show the viewer beyond a shadow of a doubt that Photography has a place in the art world along with all of the more accepted traditional methods of making art. A photograph doesn’t have to be just a picture; it can be art beyond expression. So, grab your cameras and start creating! We will begin accepting artwork in July for the show in August.  All types of photography will be accepted. Black and White, Digital, Color, Alternative Processes- even mixed media.  If you have any questions, please contact Arthur Graye at the following address: arthurgraye@arthurgraye.com. More info will be available in subsequent newsletters.

Thanks so much and make sure to follow this link for a great article and many examples and ideas for inspiration!

Wandaful Greetings

Wandaful Greetings Artist and Art Lovers,

What makes you create? What do you want to create? How are you meeting your need to create? New and exciting shows, art talks, demos and exhibits are in store to help you answer those questions. As a part of the VAL – Visual Art League family you have an opportunity to showcase your works and share and be inspired by the works of your fellow members. The time is quickly approaching when we can bring forth the “Fresh Ideas” that have been accumulating over the past year. This is another wonderful opportunity to have works displayed in the MCL Grand gallery. We can give back to our country by sharing a small piece of art with the troops.

The next ATC workshop is dedicated to creating art for “The Troops”. Fair warning ATCs are addictive.

Stress relief is on the way. Join us at the VAL Art Gallery as Tina Alvarez leads us in a stress relieving and creativity inspiring musical adventure. The music is still flowing freely on Friday nights at the Acoustical Jams. Details on all of these events are provided below.

All of this and more are yours as a VAL member and your input and participation needed to continue to provide our community with unique flavor and unique talent of VAL.
