I am a professional realist artist.
Artist Statement

I am a realist figurative artist. My paintings are done primarily in oils or soft pastels. An avid photographer, I use my own photographs as my source material.

As an artist, people are the inspiration for my work. I am drawn to a particular subject by the quality of light, the intensity of a shadow, or a simple gesture.

My working methods are very direct. After the initial drawing of the image on the paper or canvas, I build up my paintings using layers of transparent and opaque pigments to achieve the feeling I want the final painting to convey.
