Calendar

  • June 30 : Entry due at MCL Grand between 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
  • July 1 : Entries due at MCL Grand between 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
  • July 5 : Pick up pieces not accepted between 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
  • July 7 : Opening Reception and Award Ceremony 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
  • July 7 : Exhibit open to public.
  • August 12 : Final day of Exhibit.
  • August 12 : Pick up entries between 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Specifications

  1. Original Work Only. Must be created in the last 2 years. No copies/reproductions.
  2. Work done from photographs other than your own and work done in workshops or under supervision is not considered original.
  3. Suitably framed – work must be wired for hanging. No saw tooth hangers. Size – no larger than 50.” Neutral Matting.
  4. Work deemed inappropriate by the Board of Directors of VAL may be denied entry into the Show.
  5. All accepted works must remain on exhibit for the duration of the show. No exceptions.
  6. There are no entry fees, but you must be a member of the Visual Art League of Lewisville to enter this show.
  7. Membership applications will be available at the MCL Grand if you wish to enter, and you are not already a member.

The judge for Fresh Ideas 2012 is Mr. Bill W. Barber, the owner and founder of Premier Gallery. Mr. Barber has purchased and custom framed over 600,000 pieces of art for individuals and businesses over a span of 38 years. Premier Gallery, under Bill’s leadership and guidance, has won “Art Gallery” and “Best Custom Frame Shop” from several newspapers throughout the years. Premier Gallery has also won “Business of the Year” from the Chamber of Commerce and “Top 100 Galleries in the U. S.” from Décor magazine.
