VAL member Bill Davenport’s show, “Theory of Macramé Owls,” will feature his collection of about 150 macramé owls, many of which have been used as props for theater and television productions.
“My macramé owl collection demonstrates that the most ridiculous things are worthwhile just because someone did them, very similar in spirit, if not form, to the conceptual art of the ’60’s and ’70’s, about the time most of these owls were originally made,” he said.

Charlotte Lindsey’s show, “Memories of Strength and Beauty,” will include a series of pieces created from old books that have been carved and imbedded with natural objects, some including Polaroid transfer images.
“These pieces serve as personal metaphors,” said Lindsay, whose design work will be featured at two DART light rail stations being constructed in Carrollton.
